Alvaredos Hobbs
Alvaredos Hobbs works with the distinctive grapes of Ribeira Sacra, Galicia's steep-terraced river valley in northwestern Spain. The winery's Mencía, a dark-skinned variety native to the region, demonstrates the structural depth that has drawn attention from Wine Advocate, Decanter, Wine Spectator, and Wine Enthusiast. Alongside it, the winery produces Godello, the aromatic white grape that thrives in Galicia's Atlantic-influenced climate. Both wines reflect the character of their origin: Mencía with mineral-driven intensity, Godello with the crisp, stone-fruit profile typical of the region's whites. Ribeira Sacra's vertiginous vineyards and schist soils create conditions that concentrate flavor while maintaining the freshness that defines modern Galician wine.
