Azienda Mizzon produces wines from Valpolicella, the historic red wine region of northeastern Italy's Veneto. The winery works with the classic varietals of the zone—Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and Corvinone—which thrive in the region's limestone-rich soils and Alpine-influenced climate. The Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore, a blend of Rondinella, Corvina, and Molinara, represents the winery's core expression: a wine of structure and depth, made using the traditional ripasso method in which the wine is re-fermented on the dried skins of Amarone production. The standard Valpolicella offers a lighter, more immediate expression of the same core grapes. Azienda Mizzon also produces Amarone della Valpolicella, the region's most concentrated style, made from air-dried grapes. Decanter and Wine Enthusiast have rated the winery's releases.
