Besson

Besson produces Chardonnay from Chablis, the northernmost expression of Burgundy's limestone terroirs. The winery's portfolio centers on the region's classified sites: 1er Cru parcels in Montmains and Vaillons, and the Grand Cru Vaudesir. These are wines of mineral precision and structure, shaped by Chablis's cool continental climate and Kimmeridgian soil. Wine Spectator and Wine Advocate have rated Besson's releases, with the Montmains and Vaillons cuvées earning particular recognition among the winery's offerings. Chablis at this level—unoaked or minimally oaked—channels the region's signature austerity and salinity, allowing pure varietal character and site distinction to emerge.
