Böen

Böen focuses on Pinot Noir across California's finest cool-climate regions. The winery draws fruit from three distinct appellations: Santa Lucia Highlands, Russian River Valley, and Santa Maria Valley—each contributing its own expression of the variety. The Santa Lucia Highlands bottling, rated 90.3 by Wine Enthusiast, represents the portfolio's highest achievement. The Russian River Valley Pinot Noir (89.6) captures the region's signature elegance, while the Santa Maria Valley expression (88.8) adds textural complexity to the lineup. Pinot Noir's sensitivity to terroir makes these coastal and inland sites ideal: cool nights preserve acidity and aromatics, while moderate days build ripe fruit character. Böen's multi-appellation approach allows the winery to explore how subtle shifts in climate and soil shape the same grape into distinct wines.
