Château du Bourgneuf

Château du Bourgneuf sits in the Côte Chalonnaise, Bourgogne's southern reach, where Pinot Noir thrives in a continental climate. The winery produces two expressions of Mercurey, the region's signature appellation. The Mercurey 1er Cru 'En Sazenay' represents the upper tier—a single-vineyard bottling from a classified site that captures the mineral precision and red-fruit character Côte Chalonnaise Pinot Noir is known for. The standard Mercurey offers a more accessible entry to the same terroir and grape. Both wines have been evaluated by Wine Enthusiast. The Côte Chalonnaise occupies a middle ground between the prestige of the Côte d'Or to the north and the value-driven Mâconnais to the south, producing Pinot Noir with structure and aging potential at a more moderate price point than its northern neighbors.
