Dr. Von Bassermann-Jordan produces Rieslings from the Pfalz, Germany's warmest wine region. The winery's portfolio centers on noble late-harvest expressions: the Deidesheimer Hohenmorgen Riesling Beerenauslese, a botrytized wine of concentrated fruit and complexity; the Ungeheuer Riesling Auslese, layered and rich; and the Ruppertsberger Hoheburg Riesling Spätlese, which balances ripeness with acidity. These wines have been assessed by Falstaff, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, and Decanter. The Pfalz's continental climate and sandy soils allow Riesling to achieve full phenolic maturity while retaining the variety's characteristic aromatic intensity and mineral spine. Late-harvest Rieslings from this region are marked by honeyed sweetness, stone fruit, and the potential for decades of evolution in bottle.
