Giacomo Grimaldi

Grimaldi works five named Barolo crus from Novello — Le Coste, Le Coste Riserva, Piccole Vigne, Ravera, and Sotto Castello di Novello — alongside a single straight Barolo bottling. Five prestige critics rate the wines most years; Decanter, Wine Spectator and Vinous have all landed in the 93–94 range on serious vintages. Outside Nebbiolo the estate also bottles Barbera d'Alba from the Fornaci parcel, Dolcetto d'Alba, Roero Arneis, and a Langhe Sauvignon. The Barolo range is the reason to start here; the rest is what they pour while the Nebbiolo rests.
