Giaconda

Giaconda works Beechworth in North East Victoria across 21 wines, and the Nantua Vineyard Chardonnay heads the white side. The range is unusually wide for the acreage: Roussanne in both a Nantua Les Deux bottling and an amphora version, Nebbiolo and Shiraz off McClay Rd, plus a Bordeaux blend built on Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. Four prestige critics rate the wines and average just over 92, with Wine Advocate reaching 95 on a 2009. Beechworth is an Australian Geographical Indication rather than a quality tier, so the name on the label tells you where the fruit grew and nothing about rank.
