Marcarino operates in Piemonte, the northern Italian region celebrated for its powerful, structured red wines. The winery produces Nebbiolo and Barbera—two of the region's signature varieties. Its Cascina Montà Basarin Barbaresco, made from Nebbiolo, represents the classic expression of this demanding grape: tannic, age-worthy, and marked by the mineral precision that defines the Barbaresco zone. The Cascina Montà Barbera d Alba, crafted from Barbera, offers the variety's characteristic acidity and dark fruit character. Wine Spectator has rated both wines.
