Monterebro

Monterebro produces wines from Jumilla, a region in Murcia known for its continental climate and mineral-rich soils that favor bold red varieties. The winery works primarily with Monastrell and Shiraz/Syrah, grapes that thrive in the area's intense conditions. Its flagship releases—Crianza, Selección, and Barrica—blend these varieties in different proportions, each aged in oak to develop structure and depth. Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast have rated these wines, with the Crianza and Selección both scoring in the upper 80s. The Barrica rounds out the portfolio with a slightly lighter profile. Jumilla's elevation and diurnal temperature swings produce wines with ripe fruit character balanced by acidity and tannin—a signature of the region's terroir.
