Nicodemi works with Montepulciano in Abruzzo, the central Italian region where this dark-skinned grape finds its most distinctive expression. The winery's portfolio centers on two red wines from the appellation: Notàri Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Le Murate Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane, both drawing from the region's limestone-rich soils and continental climate. Montepulciano here develops structure and earthy depth—a counterpoint to the grape's softer expressions elsewhere in Italy. Nicodemi also produces Le Murate Cerasuolo d'Abruzzo Rosé, a dry expression of the same variety that showcases the versatility of Montepulciano across color and style.
