Paternoster produces wines from Basilicata in Southern Italy, a region defined by volcanic soils and challenging terrain that yields distinctive expressions of indigenous varieties. The winery focuses on Aglianico, the dark-skinned grape that dominates the region's finest bottlings. Don Anselmo, their flagship Aglianico, demonstrates the variety's capacity for structure and aging potential, while Aglianico del Vulture—a geographically defined expression—captures the mineral character imparted by the volcanic landscape. Vulcanico Falanghina, made from the region's principal white variety, offers aromatic complexity and the crisp acidity typical of Falanghina grown in these conditions. The wines have been assessed by Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, Falstaff, and Decanter.
