Plozza

Plozza operates in Valtellina, the Alpine valley of Lombardia where Nebbiolo thrives in steep, sun-exposed vineyards. The winery's portfolio centers on two expressions of this demanding varietal: Grumello Valtellina Superiore and Valtellina Superiore Riserva Inferno, both drawing structure and mineral precision from the region's schist soils and continental climate. The Inferno, aged in reserve, shows the depth characteristic of Nebbiolo at its most serious. Plozza also produces Franciacorta Brut, the region's benchmark sparkling wine, blending Pinot Nero and Chardonnay into a wine of complexity and refinement. Across its range, the winery demonstrates command of Valtellina's signature style: wines built on tannin and acidity, shaped by altitude and geology rather than ripeness alone. Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and Decanter have rated these wines.
