Pröll produces wines from the Weinviertel, Austria's largest wine region, situated in the northeastern corner of Niederösterreich. The winery focuses on two of the region's signature varieties: Grüner Veltliner and Chardonnay. The Chardonnay Barrique and Karln Chardonnay showcase the winery's work with oak-aged white wine, while Der Geistliche Pröll Ried Lehlen Grüner Veltliner represents the crisp, mineral-driven character for which the Weinviertel is recognized. Grüner Veltliner thrives in the region's continental climate and loess-rich soils, yielding wines marked by white pepper, citrus, and green apple notes. The Chardonnays, aged in barrel, develop broader structure and complexity. Falstaff has rated the winery's releases.
