Wimmer-Czerny

Wimmer-Czerny works the Wagram, a warm, loess-rich plateau in Niederösterreich that favors white wine of mineral precision and ripeness. The winery's portfolio centers on Austria's signature varieties: Grüner Veltliner, Weissburgunder, and the less common Roter Veltliner. The Roter Veltliner Alte Reben draws from older vines, a practice that concentrates flavor and structure. Weissburgunder—the Austrian name for Pinot Blanc—appears in the Scheiben bottling, also from mature plantings. The Fumberg Grüner Veltliner rounds the range with the bright, herbaceous character typical of the variety. These wines have been assessed by Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Falstaff, and Wine Enthusiast, reflecting the winery's standing within serious wine criticism. The Wagram's continental climate and distinctive terroir shape wines of clarity and aging potential.
