Provam produces wines from Monção e Melgaço, the southernmost subregion of Vinho Verde in Northern Portugal's Minho valley. The area's continental climate and granite soils yield distinctive white wines built on indigenous varieties. Alvarinho, the region's signature grape, appears in Provam's Varandas de Monção Vinho Verde Branco, a wine that balances the variety's natural stone-fruit character with the bright acidity typical of the zone. The winery also works with Loureiro, another local white varietal known for floral aromatics, and blends Trajadura with Alvarinho in Varanda do Conde. These wines reflect the precision and mineral quality that Monção e Melgaço has developed as a distinct identity within Vinho Verde—drier and more structured than the region's lighter expressions. Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast have rated Provam's releases.
