Silva operates in Daphnes, a protected designation within Heraklion on the island of Crete. The winery works with indigenous Greek varieties alongside international grapes, anchoring its portfolio in the volcanic terroir of the region. Vorinos Red, a blend of Kotsifali, Syrah, and Liatiko, represents the winery's approach to red wine—layering native Cretan grapes with Syrah to build structure and depth. Psithiros Red follows a similar philosophy, combining Kotsifali and Liatiko with Merlot. The white program centers on Vidiano, a Cretan variety that expresses the mineral character of the island's soils. Wine Advocate and Decanter have rated Silva's wines, with Vorinos Red and Psithiros Red scoring in the upper 80s, while Vorinos White demonstrates the potential of the estate's white production. The winery's focus on blending local and international varieties reflects contemporary Cretan winemaking—rooted in place but open to broader Mediterranean influences.
