Soryu produces wine in Yamanashi-ken, Japan's premier wine region. The winery focuses on Koshu, the indigenous white grape that defines Japanese viticulture. Koshu wines are characteristically delicate, with bright acidity and subtle stone-fruit aromatics that reflect the cool mountain terroir of their origin. Soryu's Curious Type S Koshu and Curious Type N Koshu represent the winery's exploration of this varietal. Both expressions have been assessed by Decanter, with the Type S earning particular recognition for its expression of the grape.
