Villa Dora
Villa Dora produces wines from Vesuvio, the volcanic region of Campania in southern Italy. The winery works with indigenous varieties suited to the region's distinctive terroir: Piedirosso and Aglianico for reds, Falanghina and Coda di Volpe Biancha for whites. The Forgiato Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso, a blend of Piedirosso and Aglianico, represents the winery's red program. On the white side, the Vigna del Vulcano Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco combines Falanghina and Coda di Volpe Biancha. A second red offering, Gelsonero Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso, also draws on Aglianico and Piedirosso. The volcanic soils of Vesuvio impart mineral character and structure to wines from this historic appellation. Wine Advocate and Wine Spectator have rated Villa Dora's releases.
