Weingut Grossarth
Weingut Grossarth works the Nahe, Germany's mineral-rich river valley, where slate and volcanic soils shape wines of precision and restraint. The winery's portfolio centers on three varieties: Riesling, the region's signature white, rendered dry and structured in the Kloster Disibodenberg bottling; Spätburgunder, Germany's answer to Pinot Noir, offered in the Daniel's expression; and Grauburgunder, the Pinot Gris that brings textural depth to the lineup. All three are made in the trocken (dry) style, reflecting a modern sensibility that lets terroir and varietal character speak without residual sweetness. Falstaff has rated these wines, acknowledging their technical precision. The Nahe's cool climate and complex geology produce whites and reds alike with the kind of mineral tension and aging potential that reward serious attention.
