Château Thivin

Château Thivin produces Gamay-based wines from Côte de Brouilly, one of Beaujolais's most structured terroirs. The winery's portfolio centers on three expressions of this granite-rich appellation: Cuvée la Chapelle, Cuvée Godefroy, and Clos Bertrand. Each represents the mineral precision and dark fruit intensity that distinguish Côte de Brouilly from the broader Beaujolais region—wines built for aging rather than immediate consumption. Gamay, when grown on these slopes, develops the tannin and complexity absent from lighter Beaujolais styles. The wines have been assessed by Wine Advocate, Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, and Wine Spectator, reflecting their standing within serious wine criticism. Château Thivin's approach emphasizes the specificity of place: these are not fruit-forward novelties but expressions of volcanic soil and elevation.
