Domaine Courbet

Domaine Courbet works the Côtes du Jura, a region defined by its singular white grape: Savagnin. This variety thrives in Jura's limestone soils and continental climate, developing the mineral intensity and oxidative complexity for which the region is prized. The domaine's flagship Château-Chalon, made from pure Savagnin, exemplifies the appellation's austere, age-worthy character. A barrel-aged expression, Château Chalon Coeur de Barrique, adds textural depth to the varietal's signature profile. The domaine also produces a straight Savagnin that captures the grape's essential character: high-strung acidity, white stone fruit, and the subtle nuttiness that emerges from extended aging under flor. Wine Advocate and Decanter have rated these wines, reflecting their standing within Jura's narrow but devoted category of serious white wine.
