Mosnel produces Franciacorta, the sparkling wines of Lombardia in Northern Italy's pre-Alpine foothills. The region's cool climate and limestone-rich soils create the conditions for high-acidity base wines—typically Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc—that age gracefully under the traditional méthode champenoise. Mosnel's portfolio centers on this discipline: the Franciacorta Pas Dosé Riserva QdE, a bone-dry blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Blanc; the Parosé, a Pinot Nero and Chardonnay cuvée; and the EBB Extra Brut, a Chardonnay-based expression. These wines have been assessed by Decanter, Wine Enthusiast, Wine Advocate, and Wine Spectator. Franciacorta demands extended aging on its lees—typically 30 months or more—which builds complexity and fine mousse. The result is a wine of structure and minerality, less dosage-forward than many sparkling alternatives, with the precision that cool-climate viticulture demands.
