Canon-Fronsac, historically a part of the Bordeaux region, is located southwest of Saint-Émilion and north of Pomerol. The region's vineyards are primarily planted with red grape varietals, with the most commonly used varieties being Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The unique terroir of Canon-Fronsac allows for the expression of each grape variety's individual character while also contributing to the harmonious blends that define the region (Fig. 3).
Food Pairings:
Canon-Fronsac wines pair beautifully with a wide range of dishes, making them an excellent choice for various culinary occasions. Their rich, complex flavors and notable tannins complement hearty meat dishes such as venison, game birds, and beef bourguignon. Moreover, they also pair well with aged cheeses and boldly-flavored sauces (Fig. 4).
