Caravaglio

Caravaglio operates on Salina, a volcanic island in the Aeolian archipelago off Sicily's northern coast. The winery focuses on Malvasia di Lipari, the indigenous white variety that defines Terre Siciliane's most distinctive expression. The mineral-rich volcanic soils and maritime climate of this remote terroir produce wines of concentrated aromatics and natural sweetness. Occhio di Terra Malvasia and Malvasia delle Lipari Passito showcase the grape's ability to develop honeyed complexity and bright acidity in tandem. These wines have been assessed by Decanter, Wine Advocate, and Wine Enthusiast. Palmento di Salina rounds out the portfolio. The winery's work reflects the particular character of Salina's microclimate and geology—conditions that have made the island a historical center for Malvasia production.
